THERE IS NO PROOF THAT GOD EXISTS; BUT THERE IS NO PROOF THAT GOD DOES NOT EXIST

EASTER- 2012

It is a very special time of the year , emotionally charged, the time when the Christians celebrate the ressurection of Jesus Christ.

This year for Easter we will:

1. Learn a little bit about Jesus Christ

2. Learn a little bit about the relationship between Christianity, environment and animals. Please see this content under 'Issues, topics'

3. Learn a little bit about St. Francis of Assisi, the saint-patron of ecology and animals and enjoy some of his famous quotes.

4. Take an one-year vow (optional)

5. Learn to prepare a cheap, easy-to-make recipe for Fasting

1. About Jesus Christ

About 2000 years ago, in this time of the year, a simple-looking , 33 years old Man, covered in a simple cloth, a Man who was preaching Peace, Compassion and Love, an innocent Man, was put in the line with common criminals, forced to carry His Cross, nails were inserted in His legs and hands and fixed like this in His Cross, beaten, humiliated and fed poison when asked water, was left to die there. Some of us could ask in horror : 'Who would do something like that to any human being? What kind of 'evil beast?' Well, it was US who did that. Sharing His fate were thousands of Christians. We kept doing this later, in wars, during holocaust, etc... The 'evil beast' of hate, ignorance and darkness kept showing its ugly head. We did this with animals always.

These are uncontested facts. What is being challenged is the Ressurection of Christ -the Christian believe that, after Hid agonizing death, Jesus wake-up and was elevated at sky, and the Christian belief that Jesus has a divine essence, being sent by God and being God's Son. The Ressurection and elevation at the sky is one of many mysterious phenomena that cannot be understood yet (maybe never) and cannot be explained. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT DID NOT EXIST.

Jesus Christ acquired immortal power on the Earth, the power that lasted and grew stronger for the next 2000 years after His Death on the Cross. This power was not achieved by any mortal man ever, as the power of kings, emperors, etc, no-matter how big it is in their mortal life, dies shortly after they are gone. Based on this, do we have reasons to believe that Jesus Christ has a DIVINE, SUPERNATURAL, SUPERHUMANE POWER, given to Him by God? I believe so.

Jesus Christ teachings were focused on preaching LOVE, COMPASSION and PEACE.

3. St. Francis of Assisi- saint-patron of ecology and animals.

St. Francis of Assisi was born in Italy, in 1181, in a very wealthy family. As a young man he had the vision of God that was calling him, following an incident in which his rich friends mistreated a poor beggar. St. Francis turned his back to all his wealth, social status and easy lifestyle and chose to live as the poorest and most humble among men, and to follow God's calling. For a while he lived in mountains with birds and wild animals who he loved dearly and treated as his equals, his brothers, for him having the same importance as the Pope. For St. Francis, 'a sparrow and the Pope had the some importance, they both were God's creatures'. He performed miracles related with birds and with wild animals. He could talk with them and make them to listen to him. He founded the Men' s Franciscan Order, the Women's St. Clare Order and he is the father of all Franciscan Orders.

Some of his quotas:

'IF YOU HAVE MEN WHO WILL EXCLUDE ANY OF GOD' S CREATURES FROM THE SHELTER OF COMPASSION AND PITY YOU WILL HAVE MEN WHO WILL DEAL LIKEWISE WITH THEIR FELLOW MEN.'

'A single sunbeam is enough to drive away many shadows'.

'Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible.'

'All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a small candle.'

'We have been called to heal wounds, to unite what has fallen apart, to bring home those who have lost their way.'

'True progress quietly and persistently moves along without notice.'

'Above all the grace and gifts that Christ gives to His beloved is that of overcoming self.'

'Where is charity and wisdom there is neighter fear nor ignorance.'

'The deeds you do may be the only sermon some persons will hear today.'

4. Take an one-year vow (optional).

If the sufferings of the Man on the Cross -Jesus Christ- the Man who was preaching Peace, Compassion and Love, the Man who was telling us that He is dying this Death because He Loves us, if His sufferings moved you, in respect and reverence for the Man who wanted to unite us all through the Power of Undivided Love and Love for God, lets take this vow for one year:

-I will try to bring Peace, Compassion and Love in my daily life

-I will give the gift of Love that was so generously given to me to God's creatures that have it the least and need it the most - be them humans or animals

- I will use my human abilities in a peaceful way to alleviate suffering and hunger for God's creatures -be them humans or animals

-I will use my human abilities in a peaceful way to be the voice that opposes to Human Abuse which created suffering among God's creatures- be them human or animals

- I will treat all of God's creatures equally, as my brothers- be them humans or animals

-I will be the sunbeam that will drive the shadows away

- I will work to improve my knowledge about God and its creation and creatures and I will spread and share any good knowledge

-I will Fast at least one day every week

5. Learn to prepare a cheap, easy-to-make recipe for Fasting

EASTER 2013

1.In Pope's first speech, we could see the concept of 'goodness', which it is universally human; also universally human is the concept of 'treating well the animals', and we know that, as Christian, St. Francis of Assissi brought it to light. We found the same concept in Gandhi's philosophy 'You can judge a nation after the way it treats its animals'.

2. We take a brief look at the Christian concept : All the World is ours, was created for our enjoyment, we have dominion over it and we can do anything we want to the animals.

Well, this is, in my opinion, the biggest responsibility given to us and the biggest test.

Lets put it simple: I will give you MY home, which I created for you, and I will give you my children. You can do anything you want with them. Is that much I trust you! And is that much I count on your responsibility and in your love and goodness. After all, I created you similar with myself. And I gave you the Christian teachings, I made you noble and powerfull.

Could Jesus Christ, 2000 years ago, teach us to not eat animals? That would have been, at that time, like condamning us to die, because our knowledge and capacities were very limited, so we were not able to sustain ourselves. We have different capacities now.

3. I had a bad dream last night, and I want to share it with you: I was somewhere, in a place familiar, where I used to be before, in a city, and as I was walking I was feeling trapped, the sky looked somehow different than I knew it, and soon I realized that the sky was , in fact a carcass of metal , and I was trapped in between that endless carcass and the Earth; I was trying to go back at places were I used to be happy before, to see the bright sky, the green grass, were I was loved and were I was enjoying the bright, fresh mornings, and I could not go back, as these places were not there anylonger. Was only the grey sky, and I was entombed there forever, with no escape. I turn my face to the 'sky' and I screamed, to the last power who could help: 'GOOOOOD!Please Help!' Suddenly, the 'sky' cracked and the real sky, also sad, but alive, showed up! And I woke up.

My Question to you:

Who I was in my dream ? I was a Squirrel entombed in the roof, or I was a human being entombed on my Planet, in which the 'sky' is a deadly cocktail? We both had the same end: slow death. 'When a man denies the shelter of compassion and pity to any of God's creatures, will deal likewise with his fellow men'. When we will treat the Squirrels with compassion , we will be able to deal properly with our own. It is, indeed, so true and so real!

4. Like last year, this Easter we will renew our vow.

5. Feed the Squirrels! Feed the mothers and the babies! HAPPY EASTER! And do not forget that being alive and happy it is not our merit! Our merit is when we make others alive and happy! In particular the most vulnerable and most defendless, the Animals.
